TWR
Middle School Winter Running

The TWR Middle School Winter Running program is for Wilde Lake, Harper's Choice, and Dunloggin Middle School students. This program is a continuation of the Middle School Fall XC program. New members who register for this program will be joining the already existing TWR Middle School team formed during the Fall XC program. (Team members who participated in the Fall XC season do not need to register again.)
Information for Parents and Guardians
This program runs from the end of November through February. The team meets two or three times per week. On weekdays, the practices will start at 4:00pm. Saturday practices typically begin at 3:00pm. We usually run on the Wilde Lake High School grass practice fields or on the track. Occasionally, we go off campus for a run at Wilde Lake Park or in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Like the Fall XC program, the focus is on learning about and training for distance events: cross country and the 1- and 2-mile track events. The Winter program, though, will include opportunities to learn about additional track & field events, like relays and throwing.
There will be opportunities for athletes who are interested to compete in local races and, later in the season, at indoor youth track meets. Participation in races and meets is not required, but for those thinking about running in high school, the races and meets can serve as a good introduction to competition.
