The TWR Approach (AKA Our Philosophy)
Coaching is fundamentally a teaching endeavor. There is much to be taught and learned from running and being active. We try not only to teach our athletes something about their bodies and minds but also to understand how the body-mind connection applies in the real world.
We also like data. Happily for us, we find a grand connection between learning, running, and data. So, our training methods focus on relating training data to performance.
Physiology, mental fitness, and data analysis. All in one place. How can you beat that!
There are many ways to think about training the mind and body. At TWR, in partnership with mGTI Statistics, we like to take a data-focused approach to training.
What data do we like our athletes to track?

Goals and Plans
Everyone is an individual. Everyone has different goals and can follow different paths to their goals. One of the first things we do at TWR is help the athlete establish their individual goals. (Spoiler: they don’t have to be related to going fast or running for long distances.) Then we talk about the goals and work with the athlete to figure out the path (in other words, training plan) to their goals.
