TWR Pole Vaulting
TWR's Pole Vaulting program is intended to provide opportunities for students in the Wilde Lake High School district to learn the fundamentals of the sport on their home turf. Wilde Lake High School is one of the few high schools in Howard County with a complete pole vault landing system, making it an ideal place for WLHS vaulters to hone their skills without leaving home.

Practices
Our Spring practices are being held on Wednesdays, from 4:00 to 5:30pm.
The 2026 Team
The TWR Pole Vault team currently consists of three WLHS sophomores and two middle school members of the TWR middle school running team.
Head Coach
Tom McCoy is head coach. Tom is a WLHS graduate and holder of the WLHS indoor pole vault record. He is also a Frostburg State University graduate where he became the Bobcats' first-ever men's team qualifier for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
